It is with great sadness that the family of Anne Hatherly announces her passing into God's arms on Tuesday May 14, 2013, at the Moncton City Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born in River Hebert, Anne was a daughter of the late Arthur and Betty (Herwell) Morris.
Anne graduated from Nova Scotia Normal College, Truro, in 1960. During her 34 year teaching career she touched the lives and hearts of hundreds of students and parents.
Anne is survived by her husband Bert, River Hebert; her daughters Barbara Jane Wilkinson, Goose Bay, Luanne (Doug) McAloney, River Hebert. She was Nan to Nicole (Shawn) Cameron, Grand Bay, NB, Adam (Vanessa O'Brien) McAloney, River Hebert, Rebekah (Steve) Hunt and Jessica (Cameron Costin) Wilkinson, both of Edmonton, and Beach Nan to her great-grandsons, Braxton, Aaden and David. Anne is also survived by her sister Lucy (Peter) Sawatzky, River Hebert, Marg (Don) Pickrem, Truro, sister-in-law Celine Hatherly, Halifax and several nieces and nephews, as well as her two very special friends Evelyn Willis and Joan Blenkhorn.
Anne was predeceased by infant son Richard Herwell Terrio, and her sister Barbara Pociuk.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be held at Christ Church, Amherst on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 11 am, Rev. Glenn Eason officiating.
Those wishing to make a donation in Anne's memory may do so to the Alzheimer's Society or the charity of your choice.
A very special heartfelt Thank You to Heidi Fairbanks-Smith as well as Dr. Mujoomdar and Dr. Abdel-Samad and nurses on 5600 unit of Moncton City Hospital for their kind and compassionate care given to Mom.
