RICHARD, YVON - 1927-2013 - Yvon H. Richard, 85, formerly of Shediac Bridge, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the Villa Providence, Shediac. Born on November 17, 1927 in Causapscale, PQ, he was the son of the late Alyre and Marie (Beaudry) Richard. Yvon retired as an employee with CFB, Moncton and was a Korean War veteran. He served with the Canadian Armed Forces in Korea, Continental Europe and Cypress. He was a member of the Korean Veterans Association of Canada #43, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #33, Shediac and a fourth degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 58 years, Eliza (Petitpas) Richard of Shediac Bridge; one daughter, Ghislaine McIlwrick (Gordon) of Greenwood, NS; one son, Robert (Jennifer) of Shediac Bridge; five sisters: Rita, Therese, Jenny, Aline and Geraldine; three brothers: Camille, Alfred "Freddy" and Oswald; four grandchildren: Michelle, Lisa, Shawn and Josh; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Dorice; one brother, Valmont.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral Center, 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 3:00 pm. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 2:00 pm until time of service. Interment will be in La Visitation R.C. Cemetery, Grande-Digue.
