Charlene Bowser

It is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of Charlene Bowser, age 66, of River John. Charlene passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Aberdeen Regional Hospital, New Glasgow on Sunday, May 19, 2013.
Born in Amherst Head, she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Myrtle (Doyle) Baxter.
Charlene worked at Cumberland Regional Health Care for 40 plus years. She loved animals and always took time to help a stray. A great bargain shopper, she kept Frenchy's in business, clothing every child she felt was in need. She loved her family and friends and looked forward to every gathering she could get to.
She will be deeply missed by her spouse of 25 years Ian Swantee, River John; daughter Tracey (Kevin) Prendergast, Calgary, AB; granddaughter Megan Prendergast, Calgary, AB; step-son Steven (Kim) Swantee, Woodburn, NS; brother Eugene (Elsie) Baxter, Amherst Head; sister Gayle (Greg) Gillespie, Wolfville, NS; brothers-in-law Layton Finley, Truemanville, NS and Arnold Smith, Shinimicas, NS; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sisters Linda Finley and Barbara Smith.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Family at Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 2 pm.
Those wishing to make a donation in Charlene's memory may do so to the LA Animal Shelter, the Aberdeen Regional Hospital Palliative Care, or the charity of your choice.
