Passed peacefully away after a short illness at the Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, May 18, 2013, Felix Oliver of Gull Island, age 85 years. Predeceased by parents: Joseph and Dymphna; brothers: Leo, Harry and John; sons-in-law: Gussie and Henry. Left to mourn, wife: Violet May 'Vi'; four daughters: Tilley Oliver, Gull Island, Phyllis (Victor) Skinner, Ochre Pit Cove, Theresa Oliver, Gull Island and Lorraine Oliver, Victoria, BC; one son: Theodore (Glenda), Gull Island; eleven grandchildren: Kim (Sherman), Dale (Dale), Sherry (Jeff), Curt (Lori), Josh (Eve), Candy, Jackie (Paddy), Corinne (Keith), Carrie (Trevor), Tina (Darrell) and Melissa (Clay); ten great-grandchildren: Tanner, Kyle, Nicholas, Kaitlyn, Kayley, Hailey, Caden, Olivia, Owen and Katie; two brothers: Gerald (Theresa) Oliver, Gull Island and Francis Oliver, Brampton, ON; two sisters: Cicily Rose, ON and Dymphna Beer, Keswick, ON; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Western Bay. Fr. Jose Alden Alipin conducted the Funeral Mass on Tuesday, May 21 from Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Northern Bay. Interment took place in Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Cemetery, Northern Bay. Donations in his memory may be made to the North Shore Fire Dept. or North Shore Ambulance Fund.
