Mary Kennedy

Lieu de naissance : New Aberdeen

Lieu de décès : London, Ontario, Canada
Date de décès : 6 mai 2013

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful death of our loving sister, aunt and friend on Monday, May 6, 2013, at Extendicare Nursing Home in London, Ont.
Born and raised in the New Aberdeen area of Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late John Patrick and Mary Genevieve (Curry) Kennedy.
Mary was employed with the Civil Service and worked in Halifax, Ottawa, Toronto and London, Ont. After retiring, she returned to Glace Bay and resided on Wallaces Road for a few years before returning once again to London.
Mary was a very kind and gentle person with a wonderful laugh and a dry sense of humour. She was a great source of information about the family history and was always willing to share her memories with anyone interested in listening. Mary loved to travel and during her lifetime had the opportunity to visit many countries around the world. She enjoyed talking about all the adventures she had and the things she saw.
Mary is survived by her sisters, Genevieve, Sydney, and Announcieta (Rogez), Glace Bay; her loving niece, Beth Wilson, Glace Bay, who she thought of as a little sister; sister-in-law and good friend, Josephine (Melnick) Kennedy, London, Ont.; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by sisters, Anne (Wilson), Pauline (Burkman), and Eileen (Bannon), also brothers, Francis, Duncan and Finley and by her special niece, Mary Wilson.
Cremation has taken place, and a small service will be held in the chapel at St Anne's Church, Glace Bay on Monday, June 3 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St John's cemetery.
