Donald ‘Trapper’ McKay

Donald "Trapper" McKay 71 years of age, of Springhill, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at All Saints Hospital, Springhill, Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Harold and Thelma (Adams) McKay.
In his younger years, he served with the RCAF as a Metal Technician. Trapper worked as a Councillor for the School of the Deaf in Amherst for over 25 years. He was a member of the Springhill Legion Branch # 17 and also the Springhill Centennial Golf Club. Trapper was an avid outdoors man. He enjoyed endless hours of hunting and fishing, sports, music and dancing.
Trapper will be sadly missed by his companion, Barbara Lundrigan; his son, Scott (Emily) McKay and daughter, Leslie McKay-Parker both of Dartmouth; granddaughter, Miranda Parker; sister, Judie Ford of Springhill.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, NS (902-597-2361). A Memorial Service will be held from the A. H. Brown Funeral Home on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 2:00 pm with The Reverend Wayne McCarther officiating. Burial to take place in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
