Vivian MacRitchie
Date de naissance : 21 octobre 1925
Lieu de décès : Glace Bay
Date de décès : 6 juin 2013
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Vivian Margaret MacRitchie, a most gracious lady that we had the pleasure of calling both, aunt and friend, on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born Oct. 21, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John Alexander and Sadie (Frye) MacRitchie and resided in Sydney her entire life.
After college, Viv was employed with the RCMP, Sydney detachment, and enjoyed a fulfilling career until the age of 60, when she retired.
She had a love for animals and the finer things life had to offer. Viv’s keen sense of humour and contagious laugh will be sadly missed.
Surviving are her nieces and nephews, Beverly (Rick) Smith, Ontario, Joan MacRitchie-Melnick, Sydney, John MacRitchie, Ontario, and Greg MacRitchie, Sydney; grandnieces and nephews, Paige, Colin, Marea, Michael, Brenden and Camden.
She was predeceased by her two wonderful brothers, Earl Ross MacRitchie and Jack MacRitchie.
Special thanks to Mr. Shaun Crowe for his 20 years of kindness, patience and neighbourly devotion. He was like the son that she never had. She had the utmost respect and pride for Shaun as his devotion was second to none. Special thanks to Stephanie Sawka for her personal care and friendship to Vivian.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Monday, 2 p.m. with Rev. Robert Lyle officiating. Interment in Hardwood Hill Cemetery.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.sydneymemorialchapel.ca or email sydneymemorialchapel@ns.sympatico.ca.
