It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Harris announce his passing on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Bonne Bay Hospital in his 80th year. He will be sadly missed by his loving family - children: Laura Harris (Robert Decker) of Rocky Harbour, Rosanna (Jasper) Goosney of Birchy Head and son Bernie of Trout River; his ­grandchildren: Crystal Harris, Dylan Goosney and Tamika Goosney; sister, June (Silas) Ivany; brothers: Ralph (Becky) and Cyril (Bertha). Also a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Maisie, parents: James and Olive, brother Steve, sisters: Evelyn Harris and Rita Welsh. Visitation will take place from the Salvation Army Church in Trout River on Thursday and Friday, where also the funeral service will take place on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with Major Patey officiating.
