It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the sudden passing of Heather Marie MacDonald, age 63, loving wife, mother, sister and aunt on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Halifax, Heather was the daughter of the late Lou and Mary (MacKay) Payne.
She was a graduate of Victoria General Hospital School of Nursing in Halifax and was employed for many years at Harbourview Hospital in Sydney Mines. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, North Sydney.
She is survived by her husband John; her son Jonathan (Michelle), Long Island and daughter Cheryl (Mike), Georges River; her three sisters Lucille (Donnie) MacRae, Baddeck, Claudia (Wayne) Gouthro, Balls Creek, Robin (George) Williams, Sydney Mines, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral service for Heather will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church with Rev. Carl Fraser officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
