After a long illness, at Queensway Carleton Hospital, in his 73rd year. Survived by his beloved spouse of 47 years, Clara (nee Stead). Son of the late Robert and Evangeline Palmer (Freeland, P.E.I.), he was also predeceased by son Doug (Cilla Perry), also survived by daughter Kim (Randy Douglas), of Finch, Ont. Loving grandfather to Palmer and Charles Douglas, Aidan and Erin Palmer. Will be sorely missed by brothers Herman (Bonnie), Windsor Ont., Bill (Joanne), Summerside, P.E.I., and sisters Merriel Mansfield, also of Summerside, and Janet Smith (Brian) of Port Moody B.C. Allan will also be sadly missed by his extended family, including nieces and nephews and many friends across Canada. Friends are invited to visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry , 150 Woodroofe Avenue at Richmond Road, Ottawa, Ontario, on Wednesday, July 30th from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday, July 31st from 1:00-2:30 p.m. with a funeral commencing at 2:30.
