Mary Campbell

Lieu de naissance : Frenchvale

Lieu de décès : Frenchvale
Date de décès : 13 juin 2013

On Thursday, June 13, 2013, with sad hearts we the family, Joseph, John and Ann Marie said good-bye to our loving mother, Mary Margaret Campbell, age 93, at the MacGillivray Guest Home, Sydney, where she resided for the last 5 years.
Born in Frenchvale, she was the daughter of the late Angus and Margaret (Morrison) MacInnis. After high school, Mary Margaret attended the Nova Scotia Normal College in Truro and taught at schools in, MacAdams Lake, Ironville, Leitches Creek, Barrachois, Westmount and finally at East Bay Elementary where she retired after teaching for more than 35 years. Mom’s love for teaching and her students always remained with her. She passed on to her children a passion for life, a pride in work and a genuine love of people. Having family and friends come to visit, to have a cup of tea, share old stories about times gone by, keeping in touch with old friends and everyone’s well being brought her so much happiness. She was a member of the Frenchvale Seniors Group for many years and an active volunteer in her community where she was a well loved and respected welcoming lady. Mom was devoted to her church, St. Mary’s Parish, Frenchvale.
Mom is survived by her two sons Joseph (Rosella) Campbell, Sydney and John Alex Campbell, Coxheath; her daughter Ann Marie (Dan) MacLean, Sydney River; her six grandchildren Allan (Sherry Lynn) Campbell, Shaun (Shawna Lee) Campbell, Joelle (Shaun) Crawley, Danielle (Joel) Ives, Ryan Campbell, Amber (Allister) Brown; her nine great-grandchildren Landon, Chad, Caleb, & Nate Campbell and Abbey and Marcy Ives, Charlotte Brown and Avery & Hudson Crawley. Also surviving are her sisters Theresa Dowie, Rita MacDonald; brothers Martin MacInnis, Rev. Dan MacInnis, Hughie (Cecilia) MacInnis, Lauchie (Frances) MacInnis; sister-in-law Muriel MacInnis; daughter-in-law Heath Campbell and many nieces and nephews.
We would also like to thank Mom’s extended family at the MacGillivray Guest Home. We will be forever grateful, she loved each and every one who worked there. Thank you for her excellent care.
She was predeceased by her husband Hugh Campbell; her chosen son Pat; her two sisters Annie (Jerome) Deleskie and Mary Ann (Stephen) MacIsaac; her two brothers John Angus and Michael (Tena) MacInnis and sister-in-law Theresa MacInnis.
Visitation for Mary Margaret will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Church, Frenchvale with Rev. Paul Abbass officiating. Burial to follow in the Parish Cemetery.

Don’t go gently into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
