George Brown MacDonald, 92, of Sydney, N.S., passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at the Taigh Solas Nursing Home in North Sydney.
Born in Quarry, St. Ann's, Victoria County, he was the son of the late Dan P. and Catherine (Peterson) MacDonald.
Mr. MacDonald is survived by his wife, Hettie (Dunford) MacDonald; sons, Blair and Bradley MacDonald; sister, Elizabeth 'Betty' (MacDonald) Ross, as well as four granddaughters.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Duncan D., Dan J. and John P. MacDonald, as well as two sisters, Margaret (MacDonald) MacLeod and Mary 'May' MacDonald.
Visitation will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel, 49 Welton St., Sydney, on Saturday from 12-2 p.m., followed by a service in the chapel at 2 p.m. with Rev. Wade Reppert officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Taigh Solas through the Northside General Hospital Foundation.
