It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Theresa Pettigrew, 58 of New Waterford on July 3, 2013 at New Waterford Hospital.
Born in New Waterford, she was a daughter of the late Peter Patrick and Mary Catherine (Groves) Power. Theresa was an avid bingo player who also enjoyed baking.
Surviving are her husband, Vernon Pettigrew; daughters, Theresa Patricia Higgins, Anna Marie Hannaby, both of Halifax, Lisa Ann Power (Daren), New Waterford; sons, Joseph Francis Higgins, Halifax, Joey Power, New Waterford; brothers, Martin Power, Willie Power and Francis Power, all of New Waterford; sister, Mary Cooper, Trenton, Ont.; four grandchildren, extended family, the Gatza's; best friends, Freddy Campbell, New Waterford and Donna Kelly, Scotchtown.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Joseph.
Visitation will be held Friday (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral service will take place Saturday, July 6 at 11 a.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Leo Penny officiating. Cremation will follow with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery at a later date.
