Peacefully at the Garden Home on Wednesday evening, July 3, 2013, of Ruth Frances Montigny (nee Hood) of Charlottetown, in her 93rd year. Wife of the late Louis "Monty" Montigny. She was the last surviving member of the family of the late Samuel and Lydia (Carr) Hood. Mother of Ruth Ann Williams (George, deceased), Truro, NS; Richard Montigny (Marion), Charlottetown; Roger (deceased) Montigny (Belinda); and Ronald Montigny (Shirley), Charlottetown. "Nanny" to Gina Carr (David), Moncton, NB; Paula Williams-Hume (Garnet), Truro, NS; Deneige Gaudet (Matthew), North River; Christopher Montigny (Laura), Charlottetown; Michael Montigny (Shannon), Stratford; Kendra Montigny, Alberta; Pamela Montigny (Tyson Stewart), Fredericton, NB; and Keene Montigny, Charlottetown. Great-Nanny to 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by three brothers Charles, Roy (Viola) and Warren Hood (Arlene) and a sister Amy Jones (Bill). Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, July 9, at 10 a.m. Interment in the family plot at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation Monday 3 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to Cerebral Palsy Association (P.E.I.) or Pat and the Elephant.
