Dorothy Janet (Hines) Bates, 73, of Westville, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2013 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
As a young woman, Dorothy left her birthplace of Welland, Ontario to join the Royal Canadian Air Force. She was stationed in Metz, France, where she met and married her life partner. Dorothy was a generous and giving person and the most important thing to her, was family. She was very much looking forward to the birth of her first great-grandchild, Elaina.
Dorothy is dearly loved and missed by her husband, Willis; daughter, Val and fiance Shane; son, Tony and partner Sandra; granddaughter, Laura and husband Mike; and grandson, Sean.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. By Dorothy's wishes, there will be no visitations or funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CCSVI Foundation of Canada.
