Ian MacLean
MacLEAN, IAN J.N. - 1925-2013 - Miramichi - Ian John North MacLean, husband of Frances Y. MacLean, of the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, Miramichi, and formerly of Black River Bridge, passed away at his residence surrounded by his family, on Sunday morning, July 14, 2013, at the age of 87. Born in Black River Bridge on October 19, 1925, he was the son of the late Thomas H. and Mary (North) MacLean. He was a carpenter by trade as well as a farmer and former school bus driver, a member of St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi, and a member of the Miramichi Chapter of the N.B. Highland Society. He is survived by his wife, the former Frances Y. Dickson; three step-daughters, Roberta Taylor (Elwin) of Napan, Elaine Giggie (Keith) of Miramichi and Caroline Bourque (Armand) of Quispamsis; one step-son, Dwight Lamkey (Valerie) of Black River Bridge; one sister-in-law, Annie MacLean of Miramichi; six step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; one cousin, Robert North of Vancouver, BC; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Hugh MacLean.
Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Andrews United Church on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at 2:00 pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, the organ fund of St. Andrews United Church, or any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
