It is with deep sadness that we the family announce the passing of our dear son and brother, Roger Hill on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at home, at the age of 58.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of Mrs. Jean (Burns) MacDonald, Bedford and the late Matthew Hill.
Roger was a courageous and compassionate caregiver to his mother over the past three years.
He was employed as a curator with the Minor’s Museum, Glace Bay, manager of Transit Cape Breton, as well as the manager of the Discovery Centre, Halifax.
Roger was an avid reader, who enjoyed discovery books, and enjoyed golfing. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Besides his mother Jean, Roger is survived by his sisters, Carol Hill and Lois (Gordon) Smith, both of Sydney, his long time friend, Donna Young, Bedford; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Following Roger's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. There will be a private burial at a later date.
