Passed peacefully away at the Dr. Albert O’Mahony Memorial Manor in Clarenville, on Saturday, July, 13, 2013, ALVA BANFIELD of Bay L’Argent, in her 84th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her Sister – Jean and husband Gus Lawrence of Bay L’Argent; Brothers – Don (Georgina) of St. John’s, Fred (Dorothy) of Burin, Henry (Lillian) of Bay L’Argent, Lloyd (Shirley) of Bay L’Argent & Frank (Esther) of Marystown; Brother-in-law – Don Hawes of Lincoln, Massachusetts, U.S.A. Alva was a very special aunt to a number of nephews and nieces; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her Parents – Clyde and Clara Banfield and Sister – Blanche Hawes.

The Funeral Service took place from St. Hilda’s Anglican Church on Monday, July 15, at 3:00 p.m. Interment followed at St. Hilda’s Anglican Cemetery. In Alva’s memory donations may be made to St. Hilda’s Church Memorial Fund.
