It is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of Floyd Scoggins, age 71, of Riverview, formerly of Sackville. Floyd passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Moncton Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Sackville, he was a son of the late Albert and Elsie (Ward) Scoggins.
Floyd was a life long farmer, and was well known for plowing snow for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt. He enjoyed playing guitar. He was a member of the Sackville Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.
He will be dearly missed by his very special friend Barbara Fall, Riverview; children, William (Barb) Scoggins, Sackville, Angela (Roland) Clare, Sackville, Heather (Earl) Beal, Sackville, Donna (Robert) Lowerison, Dorchester, and Kathy (Rick) Cormier, Dorchester, their mother Doreen Richards, Dorchester; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by grandsons Jordan Cormier and Aart terBeek; sister Merla McPhee.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) where visiting hours will take place on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 2 pm from the Jones Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Westcock Cemetery.
The Sackville Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will be holding a Legion Memorial Service at the funeral home on Monday night at 7 pm.
Those wishing to make a donation in his memory may do so to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Westcock Cemetery, St. John The Baptist Anglican Church, or the charity of your choice.
