DOUCET, Norman Joseph - 77, of Salmon River. It is with saddened hearts and wonderful memories we announce the peaceful passing at home of our beloved Norm, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 9, 1936 in Saulnierville Station, he was a son of the late Isaac and Louise (Cottreau) Doucet. He worked as an employee at the Halifax Shipyards for 20 years and retired as a Rural Route 1 mailman. Norm is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Anita (Deveau). Devoted father to Janet, Normie and Jennifer (Darin) Lowe. Dad’s memory will be cherished by all of his grand and great grand children. Norm was a brother to Jeannette (Gilbert) LeBlanc, Saulnierville; Jean-Baptiste (Noella), Comeauville; Marie (Roy) Trude, Halifax; Richard (Mary Ann), Coldbrook; Irene (Louis) Belliveau, Belliveau’s Cove; Simone (Vern) LeBlanc, Saulnierville; Coral (Elsie), Fall River; Maurice (Gisele), Saulnierville, Charles (Pam), Saulnierville Station. He was predeceased by brothers, Petit (infant) Maurice, David and Bernard (Frances). By request there was no visitation. A memorial service was held at Stella Maris Church, Meteghan, on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 2 p.m. with a private family burial. Donations in Norm’s memory can be made to the St. Vincent-de Paul-Church Cemetery Fund or to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Tri-County Site. Family flowers only please.
