It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather on Wednesday, July 17, 2013.
Born in Cheticamp, Wilfred was the son of the late Patrick and Josephine (Roach) Boudreau.
Wilfred was a teacher and later became principal at NDA School in Cheticamp for 35 years retiring in 1987. At that time he became employed as an administrator for 15 years at the Chemoi Group Home in Cheticamp.
Dad dedicated his life to his family whom he loved and cherished and was always there for them when they needed him. He especially loved receiving visits from all of his grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Dad was a loving, bright and faithful man. He always loved to help others for nothing in return. We will always remember Dad for his love of berry-picking, whether it be strawberries, blueberries, raspberries or cranberries, and he especially loved giving them to his children. This made Dad happy.
Wilfred is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Yvette (Chiasson) Boudreau; his son, Cyril (Evelyn) Boudreau, Cheticamp; his daughters, Priscille Boudreau (Bob Hyland), Halifax, Jeannine (Earl) MacLellan, Coxheath; son, Jean-Claude (E.J.), Halifax; grandchildren, Jason (Tara) Boudreau, Crystal, Grant, Paige Boudreau; Vanessa, Justin, Stacie MacLellan; Jeremie, Claire, Melanie Boudreau; and great-grandchild, Ethan Boudreau; brother, Eddy (Madeline); sisters, Marie Louise, Judy, Therese, Mary May, Elizabeth (Leonard), Marie Alice (Roger), Marie Rose (Yvon); sister-in-law, Ruth Boudreau.
Predeceased by brothers, Leo, Charles, Henry Joe, Paulite, Joseph Levis; sister, Lucy Anne.
To fulfil Dad’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Cheticamp Funeral Home.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Church, Cheticamp, on Monday, July 22, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Duaine Devereaux officiating.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
