Glen is survived by his daughters Glenda (Ken) Parrish and Patricia (Micheal) Carlson; grandchildren Scott (Franki) Parrish and their children Riley, Jackson and Jillian; Ron (Michelle) Parrish and their child Kai; Dawn Carlson (Francis) and their children Alexis and Cain; Justin (Arabella) Carlson and their children Kyra and Caelan; sister Dell Johnson of Wenattchee, Washington, U.S.A.; sisters-in-law Donna (Hank) O’ Dean of Spokane, Washington and Rose Davey of Bonnyville, AB. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy June Davey; brothers Jack Davey and Dick Davey; brothers-in-law George Gray, Earl McNabb and Harold McNabb; sisters-in-law Flo McNabb, Marg McNabb, Florence Davey, Frances Akhurst and Orra Gray; great grandchildren Ceona Michelle Parrish and Caleb Micheal Parrish. Glen was born on February 24, 1914 on the Davey homestead, five miles north of Cadillac. He attended Highway School for three years and then completed his education in Cadillac. He married Dorothy June McNabb on March 2, 1946 in Aneroid and they lived in Cadillac until 2003 and then moved to Ponteix, but Cadillac was always considered their home. Glen farmed with his father and brothers until his father passed away in 1958. He loved farming and working with horses. Glen was always involved in his community in his younger years and also enjoyed curling and taking his grandchildren camping. In 2010 Glen moved into the Foyer, where he was able to spend a year beside his wife, of 65 years, before her passing. In June of 2012, Glen experienced something we don’t fully understand. Initially having back pain and not feeling well, he was put on oxygen and prior to leaving in the ambulance he began asking" Have I Died". Days later he then started saying with authority, “Heaven is a wonderful place!” It was not “Will Be” or “Was” but “Is”. With what he told us, we believe God allowed him to see into heaven and then he was not afraid. With heavy hearts, we are comforted knowing Dad is where he wants to be, with the Lord and reunited with his wife Dorothy. In Glen’s memory, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Salvation Army. Lemieux Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
