Frederick Allan Webb, born September 6, 1935, Woodstock, N.B. died on July 25, 2013, in Kamloops, B.C.

Survived by his wife of 60 years Irene (Barrett), Chase, B.C.; siblings David (Sharon) Webb, Mary Leigh Webb, Woodstock, N.B.; daughters Cindy (Warren) Morris, Calgary, A.B. & Janice (Jack) Everett, Burnaby, B.C.; sons Martin (Joanne) Webb, Armstrong, B.C. and Derek (Donna) Webb, Leduc, AB; grandchildren, Christine Morris, Alayna (Jon) Silverberg, Warren Morris, Lesley Everett, Harrison and Allison Webb, Sarah and Emily Webb; great-grandsons, Brandon and Lexton Thomas.

Predeceased by his parents Gundy and Alice Webb, brother Gary Webb and granddaughter Jessica Webb.

Fred graduated from Carleton County Vocational School in 1953 and St. John Vocational School in 1956. Fred's first job was trucking for Webb Bros. Potatoes. He served briefly in the Queen's Own Rifles & the Royal Canadian Regiment before working as a radio operator for the Department of Transport, Moncton, N.B. and on various ships, the Baffin, Hudson, Acadia, Labrador and M.J. Boylen. The icebreakers took him to the Arctic in the 1950's resulting in treasured friendships with Inuit people that continued until his passing.

From 1967 to 1987 Fred ran a very successful hunting and fishing outfitting business with son Martin in N.B., Nfld, and N Quebec and after 1987 in NWT & Nunavut. He sold his business in 2011, remaining as a consultant until his hospitalization in April 2013.

Fred was the author of 3 popular books - Home from the Hill, Campfire Lies of a Canadian Hunting Guide & Nunavut- Journey to Adventure, as well as many articles in various sporting magazines. He was a member of Safari Club International (& first North American outfitter to receive the "SCI Outstanding Professional Hunter's Award"), Dallas Safari Club, Foundation for North American Wild Sheep, Elk Foundation, Game Coin Conservation Intl, and the National Sporting Fraternity. He was a former president of the N.B. Outfitters & consultant for N.B. Tourism Advisory Council.

Fred's family thanks Doctors Montalbetti, Faddegon & Nikolakis for their excellent care and Ponderosa Lodge staff for their outstanding support of Fred and his family.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
