HEARN-SPINNEY, Gloria Jean – of Lower Argyle, Yarmouth Co., passed away at Yarmouth Regional Hospital on July 28, 2013. Born in Yarmouth, she was a daughter to the late Richard and Grace (Smith) Hearn. Gloria was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She worked at K-Mart for years and later retired from Yarmouth Argyle Home Support Services. She was a long-time active member of the Liberal Party Association. Gloria was an avid genealogist and was involved in the Argyle Tusket Historical Society, as well as actively involved in the Argyle Historical Church. She was a generous community member who volunteered at the Knights of Columbus Children’s Lunch among other events. She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Spinney, Lower Argyle; sons, Richard (Stacey), Yarmouth; Sean, Argyle; brother, Ronald (Shirley) O’Hearn, Brooklyn; sister, Lucy (Robert) O’Hearn- Grant, Cornwall Ont; aunt, Betty Hearn, Halifax; stepchildren; Debbie (Robert) Surette, Dayton; Dale (Susan) Roberts, Yarmouth; Russell (Julieann) Spinney, Argyle Head; Steven (Carol) Spinney, Mood Road; Andrew Spinney (Ashley), Yarmouth; grandchildren, Autumn, Charlie, and Patrick. Nan Nan loved you very much. She is also survived by step grandchildren, Grace, Dyson, Chad, Adam, Brendan, and Garren; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her former husband’s Richard Gosling and Donald Roberts. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held Friday, August 2, 2013 at 2 p.m. from the Evangel Assembly church, Pastor Oral Stewart officiated. Interment followed in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in Gloria’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Argyle Historic Church, Autism Nova Scotia, or the Argyle Tusket Historical Society.
