Formerly of St. John’s Newfoundland. Our beloved Marilyn passed away peacefully on July 28, 2013 at her residence at Princess Court Nursing Home, Dryden, Ontario. Marilyn was 65. Marilyn was predeceased by loving husband Eric; parents: Ted and Ella, brother Derrick; friends: Mary Melamed and Gen Rollings. She leaves behind to mourn her son Rod and his family of Glovertown, NL, her brother Edgar Bruce and wife Estelle of Dryden, ON, nephew Clifford (Jodie) of Toronto, ON, nephew David and niece Ella and their children, the Caines and Reid family members, the Hine and Howes family members, Max (Joan) Burt and their family, the Gill family and a large circle of loved and cherished friends; especially John and Peggy Connors and their family, Judy (Mar-Mar’s girl), Sean (Annie), Pam (Carl) and children. Marilyn frequently spoke of all the children for whom she cared over the years. For those of you who were fortunate enough to come under Mar-Mar’s care – she loved you all: “the boys” of whom she was so proud and her “love you forever family” Craig and Dianne Stanford and their children. Marilyn cherished many other people: the crowd of camping friends and their families for their love and friendship of 40 years, neighbours, friends of York Street, Sissy Beverly, staff and friends of St. Luke’s, Church family of Corpus Christie, and other dear friends met on life’s journey and a special mention of Maurice and Ruby Finn and family. Marilyn was blessed with many new found friends in Dryden, especially Alice, Phoebe and family, Rita and family, Mary-Lou, Michelin and Kathy. A special mention of school friend Lee and husband Michael who are remembered with love. To the many staff of Princess Court who befriended Marilyn- we know how much your friendship and caring meant to her. Thank you to all who made her “feel at home” at Princess Court. A prayer service will be held at Princess Court on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 31 at St. Joseph’s Church with Father Al Campeau officiating. Interment of ashes will occur at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in St. John’s Newfoundland at a later date for Marilyn and Derrick.
