Olive Douthwright

DOUTHWRIGHT, OLIVE - Olive Jean Douthwright, 81, of Bathurst, and formerly of Petitcodiac, passed away at the Bathurst Regional Hospital on July 30, 2013. Born in Havelock on December 14, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Abby (nee Melvin) Dunstan. Through most of her life Olive lived in the Petitcodiac area, she briefly lived in Salisbury and Moncton with her friend Gladys, then decided to make her move to Bathurst. Olive was a member of the Petitcodiac Baptist Church and the Women’s Missionary. She was involved with the Westmorland County Agricultural Fair, loved playing cards, cooking and sewing. Olive also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Olive is survived by her son, Glendon (Tammy) Douthwright of Fort McMuray, Alberta; her grandchildren: Christopher (Ashley), Jessica, Jenna (Jason), and Corina; her great grandchildren: Domanick, Sophia, Austin, and Jaxon; her special nieces: Terry of Winnipeg, Jocelyn of Deepriver, and Linda of Havelock; and by her special friend, Dawna. Besides her parents, Olive was predeceased by her husband, Everett Douthwright, in 1997; her son, Ronald Douthwright, in 1965; her great grandson, Simon, in 2008; and her sisters: Doreen and Edna.
The funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 3, at 11:00 am, at the Maplewood Cemetery in Petitcodiac with Pastor Terry Brewer presiding.
