Kenneth Gordon "Sonny" Spence, age 67, of Mississauga, Ontario, formerly of St. Croix, Hants Co., passed away peacefully of cancer on Sunday, September 30, 2012, at the Trillium Hospital, Mississauga, Ontario. Born February 15, 1945, in Newport Station, Hants Co., Nova Scotia, he was a son of the late Russell and Ida (Dill) Spence. Ken is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty (Fish); son, Kendrick (Julie) Spence, Oakville, Ontario; granddaughters, Amber and Kelsey; daughters, Suzette LeBlanc, Halifax; and Sherry (Brian) Jackman, Lower Sackville; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ken was predeceased by his brother, James Spence; sisters, Beverly Turcot and Marjorie Weeks. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2013, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, 194 King Street, Windsor (902-798-2232), with the Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. Interment will be held in the Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix. Donations in memory of Ken may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
