MOULAND- Justine (Dyck) Mouland went to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 21, 2013, one day after her 83rd birthday. She graciously battled a number of health issues for many years, and passed away peacefully in Swift Current, SK. Justine was born on July 20, 1930, on the family homestead in McMahon, to George & Aganetha Dyck. Though she only went to grade 8 in school, Justine completed her journeyman’s in Hairdressing and went on to start her own successful beauty salon in Ontario. Justine married Cecil Mouland in Calgary, on November 2, 1954. Justine & Cecil moved to the Pambrun area, where they lived the majority of their married lives. They had three children. Justine enjoyed the farm life and had a special talent for gardening. Fruit trees, flower plots and many vegetables kept her busy all summer – well into her retirement. She would spend hours each winter going through her favourite seed catalogue, writing and re-writing her wish list. Summers also included raising and butchering chickens both for the family and for the community. Justine also had a tremendous flair for crafting. She won numerous awards at the local fair for her preserves and baking. She did wood work, crocheted, knitted, macramé, leatherwork and even decorated many wedding cakes. Throughout all this, she managed to do hair out of the home, while raising three children. Justine had a strong faith in the Lord. Prayer and Bible reading were a regular part of her life. Families knew her for her kindness and generosity. The mother of three children and the grandmother of five, Justine’s love of family was her passion. Her grandchildren gave her great joy, and story telling and gardening with them brought her, and the children, the fondest of memories. Justine was a fierce competitor in Scrabble and Skip-Bo, and all who played with her learned of her great skill at board games. Justine was predeceased by her husband, Cecil Mouland; her parents, George & Aganetha Dyck; her brothers, Jacob Dyck, George Dyck, Diedrick Dyck and Peter Dyck; and by her sister, Katherina Eaton. She is survived by her three children, James Mouland, Linda Wiebe and Dyan Mouland; her five grandchildren, Lauren Wiebe, Shelby Wiebe, Bethany Wiebe, Raelyn Wiebe and Noah Vankoughnett-Mouland; her brother, John Dyck; her sisters, Agnes Kuhn and Mary Dyck; plus many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service was held on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 2:00 pm from the Church of the Open Bible, Swift Current, SK with Pastor Rob Cochrane officiating. The pianist for the service was Wendy Cochrane with the congregation singing, “Count Your Blessings” and “Sweet By and By”. Dylan Mouland read scripture from Matthew 5:3-10 and Pastor Rob read the obituary. The eulogy was shared by Lauren Wiebe with a PowerPoint presentation by Raelyn Wiebe. Musical selections were brought by Bethany Wiebe - “Last Lullaby” and by Noah Vankoughnett-Mouland and Shelby Wiebe - “Amazing Grace”. The ushers in the church were Robert Klassen and Ken Strauch. The Private Family Interment Service preceded the Funeral Service and was held at the Pambrun Cemetery, Pambrun, SK with the following serving as pallbearers, son-in-law - Darcy Wiebe, nephews - Bruce Mouland, Wilfred Dyck, Elmer Dyck, Arverd Dyck and Kurt Antonowitsch.
