DARTMOUTH – John “Robert” Simpson, 62, of Dartmouth, passed away Wednesday, July 31st, 2013 at Dartmouth General Hospital, after an ongoing battle with cancer of the liver.
Born in Stellarton, NS, he was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Pauline Simpson and his sister, Dawn Henderson.
He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and love of his life, Lynn (Miller); his daughter, Julie; son, Craig and his wife, Patti; his much-loved grandchildren, Olivia, Michael, Dominic, Morgan and Joseph.
He was a loving uncle and friend to many. Robert or “Bob” believed you could choose your family. Love is as solid a bond as blood. Robert will be missed by a large and extended family including the Kimmerers, the Longs, the Judges, the MacNeils, the Browns, the Carrolls and many more. Robert marched to the beat of his own drum and without question did things “his way”. The sum of a man cannot be fully captured in words but Robert will live on in our memories. Life is a little emptier without him.
Funeral arrangements are being cared for by Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth, NS, where visitation will be held Monday, August 5th from 7-9 p.m. and a celebration of Robert’s life will be held Tuesday, August 6th at 2 p.m. Reception to follow.
