Michael 'Woody' Worobel

Woody’s heart stopped beating on Aug 2, 2013 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cheticamp, after a short battle with cancer. He took his last breath with his wife Eleanor and his children at his side.
Woody grew up in Whitney Pier, son of the late Anna (Karyluk) and William Worobel.
He was predeceased by his first wife Mary (Beaton).
He is survived by children Michael (Toni), and Melissa (Ralph Iannone); grandchildren Amelia Iannone, Eve, Grace, and Jack Worobel; sisters Stephanie Dawe, Madeline Postlewaite, Olivia (Pat Randazzo), Anna (John Dooly); and brothers Walter (Mitzi), Alec (Ellen), and Donald.
He was also predeceased by brothers-in-law Wayne Dawe and Gus Postlewaite.
Woody’s last five years were spent enjoying his beloved Cape Breton with Eleanor at his side. Woody’s passing leaves a large gap in the hearts of his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Monday Aug 5th at 2 p.m. at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Church, West Street, Whitney Pier with Father Roman Dusanowskyj officiating.
Donations to the Cape Breton Cancer Patient fund or Cheticamp Palliative Care would be appreciated.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Funeral Co-operative.
