It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and brother, Billy Broderick, on Aug. 3, 2013, at the Glace Bay Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Born in North Sydney, Billy was the son of the late William (Billy) and Wilma Sampson
Billy is survived by his loving wife, Florence (MacLeod); sons, Shawn (Karen), Glace Bay, Darek (Alisha), Truro, Jason Gallant, Dartmouth; sister, Patricia Broderick, Calgary; brother, Stan (Buellah); grandchildren, Emily, Cheyenne, Dallas, Cierra, Jacob, Owen and Cassie.
Billy was an avid sports fan. He loved hockey, baseball and bowling. He worked for Devco as a steel fabricator for 22 years. Billy also had dedicated a lot of his time to volunteering in the Glace Bay area, especially for the Glace Bay Little League. He was also stationed in Germany for four years with the RCR.
Besides his parents, Billy was predeceased by his brother, Chuck Broderick.
Cremation has taken place and a service to celebrate Billy’s life will be held in the Warden United Church, Aug. 7, 2013, at 2 p.m. with lay-minister Pearl Miller officiating followed by a luncheon at the church. All are welcomed.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500.
