George Leo Barron, age 87, of Mississauga, a longtime employee of Public Works and Government services, passed away at his home on Feb. 23, 2013.
George was born on June 26, 1925 in Ingonish Beach, N.S., the son of the late George and Bridget Barron.
He was predeceased by an infant son, Michael in 1961 and Terrance 'Terry' in 2011.
George is survived by his loving wife, Alice Barron, Mississauga; his daughters, Sabra Stephens, Janet Harris, both of Mississauga and Michelle Difede, Woodstock, Ont.; his seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother, Sanford, Kitchener and sisters, Mary Peterson and Delores Peters, both of Sydney.
A funeral service was held at Turner & Porter Funeral Chapel in Mississauga on Feb. 27, 2013.
A graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2013 at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney with Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating.
