Passed away peacefully, at Caressant Care, Woodstock, ON, on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, Freda Christena (Morrison) (Darche) Harvey, a resident of Woodstock, and formerly of Tillsonburg and London, ON, in her 85th year.
Born in P.E.I. daughter of the late Neil H. Morrison and the late former Mary Catherine Yorston. Freda is a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Tillsonburg. She formerly was a dedicated sales employee at Eaton's Department Store, London, for many years.
Much loved wife and best friend of 39 years of William Ivan Harvey of Woodstock. Freda was predeceased by her first husband, Lambert Darche (1965), and a much-loved daughter, Mary Lise Clergy (2007), and survived by a son-in-law David Clergy (Marg Wild) of Tillsonburg. Also survived by two sons: Larry Harvey (Sylvia) of Guelph; Jim Blair-Harvey (Mary) of White Rock, B.C. Also surviving are two daughters-in-law: Sharon Harvey (Allan Olsen) of Mount Elgin; and Ruth Sandham (Steve) of Tillsonburg. Proud and loving grandmother of six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Angus Morrison (Dorothy) of P.E.I. and a sister Margaret Friest of London and the late Donald and a brother-in-law, Charles Sheehan, in P.E.I. Predeceased by three sisters: Ann Henry and the late Albert; Sadie Crawford and the late Charles and Mary Sheehan. Survived by in-laws, Barbara and her husband Bob Hoffman of London, and nieces and nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Caressant Care in Woodstock for their kind and compassionate care of Freda and our family during these last difficult days.
Public visitation will be held on Friday evening, August 9, 2013, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Verhoeve Funeral Home, 262 Broadway St., Tillsonburg, ON. CWL and Parish Prayers will be in the chapel Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 57 Venison St. W., Tillsonburg, by Rev. Fr. Tom Ferrera. Interment to follow in the Tillsonburg Cemetery.
