GILBERT, JOAN - The death of Joan Ruth Gilbert of Ripples, NB occurred Friday, August 9, 2013 at the Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton. Born in Minto, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Effie (Upton) Scribner. In addition to her beloved husband, David, Joan is survived by her daughter, Donna Yates (Ian) of Minto; her two sons, Michael Gilbert (Tara) of Lakeville Corner and Davy Gilbert of Ripples; her special granddaughter, Kiera; and step-grandchildren, Jaimie and Aiden; brothers, Vernon (Mary) of Fredericton Junction, Ronald (Dawn) of Fredericton and Alvin (Mary) of Minto; sisters, Helen Higgins of Kelowna, BC, Inez Gamson of Hamilton, ON, Verna Boulter of Oromocto, Jean Phillips (Gilmore) of Rusagonis, Faye Murray (Lloyd) of Maquapit Lake and Linda Gale (Mark Murphy) of Noonan; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Calvin, Manford and Howard; sisters, Vera, Muriel and Edna.
Although there will be no visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the Ripples United Pentecostal Church. Interment will follow in the Ripples Community Cemetery. For those who wish, donations made to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
