Passed peacefully away at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Care Centre in Harbour Breton on Thursday, August 8, 2013, Mr. Walter G. Pierce, age 79 years of Harbour Breton. Leaving to mourn his loving family: daughters, Marilyn (Levi Hancock), Florence (Reggie Whittle), Darlene, all at Harbour Breton, Yvonne (Ernie Sullivan) at Dartmouth, NS, Tracey (Paul Strowbridge) at Harbour Breton, and Penny (Tom Johnson) at C.B.S.; sons, Melvin (Patsy) and Sheldon (Valerie) at Harbour Breton; thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; sisters, Olive Price and Marjorie Brace (Harold) at Harbour Breton; plus a number of other relatives and friends.
Predeceased by his wife, Annie; brother, Wilson; sister, Frances Hunt; son in law, Richard Hynes; brother in law, Frederick Price; parents, Jeffery and Frances Pierce.
Funeral service was held on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at 2:00 pm. from St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church in Harbour Breton with The Right Rev. Bishop David Torraville officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Breton.
