It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather and brother. Dad passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Bob is predeceased by his parents Charles Ernest Dixon and Anna May (McElroy) Dixon and brother in-law Brent Eberle. He is survived by his wife Winnifred of 46 years; daughter Lesley (Wayne) Cochrane of Moose Jaw; son Christopher (Joanne) Dixon of Whitecourt Alberta and his most prized grandchildren Courtney, Devon, Charlize and Brianna. Also survived by his siblings Rosemary (Bob) Ambrose; Linda (Norman) Spooner; Teresa (Ed) Yohemas; and Brian(Teri) Dixon; brother-in-law Maurice(Nancy) Eberle; sister-in-law Penny Eberle; Aunt May Graas as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was born and raised in Moose Jaw he worked for the City of Moose Jaw for 42 years, during that time he was a member of many organizations one of which was the Saskatchewan Building Officials Association to which he holds a lifetime membership. During these years he also served as a member of the Moose Jaw Roman Catholic School Board many of those years were served as the Chairman. Dad was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. After his retirement Dad stayed busy teaching Devon how to build garden sheds, following Courtney to horse shows, and visiting Charlize and Brianna to catch up on what was happening in Whitecourt. When in Whitecourt he enjoyed going watch soccer and t-ball games. Dads other passions were farming, fishing, Warrior hockey games, and Rider football, even giving his opinions on last rider games when watching with Wayne and Devon. A Prayer Service will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Home Wednesday August 7th at 7:30pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church 1064 3rd Ave. N.W. Thursday August 8, 2013 at 10:30am. Father Richard Krofchek will be the Presiding Celebrant. Flowers are most gratefully declined. Memorial donations to the Saskatchewan Chapter of the Children’s Wish Foundation, 3602 Millar Ave, Saskatoon, SK S7P 0B1 would be greatly appreciated.
