Curry, Claire Verona (Barron)
With profound sadness, Claire’s family announce her peaceful passing at age 79 at home with her husband in the early morning of August 15, 2013. Born December 18, 1933, she was the daughter and eldest child of the late Roland and Minnie (Ward) Barron, (Kennetcook, Hants Co.). Claire was a graduate of Kay Anslow Business School in Windsor. Left to mourn is her loving husband, McCusker “Ted” , Valley, Colchester Co.; daughter, Andrea Curry, Bible Hill; sons, Bruce (Kathy) Central Onslow, Christopher (Debra), Harmony. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Martha (Vincent) Ziffle, Regina, Ryan (Laura) Curry and Brennan (Christie) Curry, both of Fort St. John, B.C., Dylan and Courtney Blenkhorn, both of Bible Hill and three great-grandchildren, Fort. St. John, B.C. Fondly remembered by her sister, Joan (Lionel) Main, Bible Hill and brothers, Blaine (Yvette) Barron, Hamilton, Ont., Brian and Darrell (Carla) Barron, both of Kennetcook, Hants Co. as well as close members of the Curry, Barron, Ward and Main families and her many friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by dear grandson, Adam Curry; niece, Lisa Barron; sisters-in-law, Irene Bell, Dana Barron and her Curry parents, brothers and sister-in-law. Claire was a homemaker and an active member of Trinity United Church, Onslow. She was a forty year member of the church choir, life member of the UCW and leader over the years of several youth groups within the church. Cremation has taken place. No visitation by request. A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 18 at 2 pm at Trinity United Church, Upper Onslow with Rev. Gerald Kerr officiating. Interment in Onslow Island Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Palliative Care Unit of CEHHC, Truro or the Trinity United Church memorial fund.
