The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, August 16, 2013, of Ivan Gallant, beloved husband of Teresa Gallant (nee Fraser), of North Rustico, age 81.
Ivan was the father of Brian (Johann) and Nancy; and grandfather of Phillip, Patrick and Edward Gallant. He is also survived by sisters and brothers, Bernice Gauthier, Shirley Gallant (Edwin), Noreen Pineau (Donald), Carolyn LeClair (Mike), Darlene Quan, Herbert Gallant (Marlene), Marleine Kish, Brian Gallant (Donna) and Eric Gallant (Gwen); sisters-in-law, Eileen Bentley, Mary Paquette and Teresa MacEachern; brothers-in-law, Hugh, John and Tim MacEachern; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved cats.
Ivan was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Rosette (Doucette) Gallant; his brothers and sisters, George (Inga), Tillie Doucette (Duddie), Bertha Arsenault (Al), Rose Pineau (Joseph “Boy”) and several who passed away at an early age; and his brothers-in-laws Gerard MacEachern and Albert MacEachern.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, North Rustico, on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Stella Maris Cemetery. Due to severe allergies, please refrain from wearing scented products.
