The death occurred peacefully with her family by her side, at the Prince County Hospital Summerside on Friday August 16, 2013 of Marion Hickey, at the age of 90 years. She was the daughter of the late Byron and Lizzie (Owen) Stewart of Hamilton. She was a devoted wife of the late Charles Hartwell Hickey of Darnley and loving Mother to Barbara (Delmar) Connick, Edith (George) Smith, Darlene Walsh, Norma (William/Bud) Dougherty, Phyllis Wheeler, Kendall Hickey, Rodney (Cathy) Hickey, Rhea MacRae, Paula (Keith) Pollon and Scott (Allison) Hickey. Marion is survived by sisters Doris Clifford of Ottawa, Muriel Stewart of Summerside, sisters-in law Mary Hickey of Kensington, Myra Chadwick of Peterborough, and brother-in-law James Hickey Jr. of Darnley. Marion has 24 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Marion is predeceased by brother, Charles Stewart of Hamilton, sister Elva Pickering of Darnley and son-in-law, Donald Walsh of Cornwall. Marion was a member of the women’s division of the Royal Canadian Air Force, a veteran of WWII, and a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch # 9, Kensington. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home in Kensington for visitation on Monday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Tuesday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 11a.m. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary will hold a remembrance service at the funeral home Monday evening at 6:30. Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Princetown UnitedChurch, MalpequePEI.
