It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we the family announce the passing of Shirley Ross on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 at Harbourstone Enhanced Care.
Born in Guysborough, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Laura(Mintus) Skinner.
Shirley enjoyed cooking and spending time with her friends especially Carol.
Shirley is survived by her son James (Rose) , Guysborough, daughters Terry Diane (Edward)Campbell, Sydney, Gail (Bernie) Dorrington, Guysborough, sister Edith (George) Jones, Sydney, brothers, Charles, Mark, Harry (Bernice) all of Guysborough, Henry (Annabelle), Douglas (Darlene), Scott (Connie), all of Sydney, and grandchildren Sheena, Joshua, Myia, Paige, Bernie Jr., Jeremy, great grandchildren Dominique, Maddex, Beylan and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Steven; brothers, Hartley, Vernon; sisters, Patricia and Elaine in infancy.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013 at Sydney Memorial Chapel, from 1 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. in Sydney Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bob Hussey officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
