MESSER, GENEVA FAYE - It is with great sadness we announce the death of Geneva Messer of Fredericton, NB. Geneva passed away on August 27, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital with her loving family at her side. She was the daughter of the late Douglas and Edna Saunders. Predeceased by her husband Lawrence, brother Harry Saunders, and daughter-in-law Debbie. Born December 21st, 1930, in Dumfries, NB, she was a loving mother, grandmother and devoted wife. Geneva spent many years working at Kings Landing Historical Settlement. She enjoyed gardening, music and family gatherings. Survived by her five sons: Danny (Thelma) of Hampton, NB; Dennis (Aileen) of Calgary, Alberta; Wendell of Keswick Ridge; Jimmy (Rita) of Burton and Bobby (Sylvie) of Prince William; seven grandchildren, Melissa, Bradley, Courtney, Rebecca, Rachel, Ashley, Madison; three great grandchildren, Bronwyn, Raya, and Easton. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Thursday, August 29th from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home on Friday, August 30 at 1:00 pm with Rev. George Clark officiating. Interment will be held immediately following at the Presbyterian Community Cemetery, Harvey Station. Special thanks to Dr. Varty, Dr. Gowan and staff of the Palliative Care Center of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Special thanks to Geneva’s good friend Shirley Jamieson.
