Perry passed away peacefully in the Hospice Wing of the Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock, B.C. on Monday, September 2, 2013, age 68. He was born in Vancouver, B.C. on September, 6, 1944.
He leaves behind to mourn, his son Alex Bruce, stepson Iain Clark, sister Carolyn (Fred) Gronlund, friend Marina Witt-Taylor, and numerous other friends and relatives.
Perry lived his early life in Duncan, B.C., he attended elementary school at St. Ann's Catholic School, and graduated with honours from Cowichan Senior Secondary. He continued on to UBC, graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering. With his degree he started his career at the Pulp Mill in Squamish, and later moved to Kamloops where he continued his employment at the Weyerhaeuser Pulp Mill working as Senior Process Engineer until his retirement. During this time he married Lynne Gray and was a loving father, dedicated to raising his son Alex and his stepson Iain.
Perry was passionate about the outdoors and spent his leisure hours hiking and photographing wildlife. In retirement, he pursued competitive (Duplicate) Bridge, which became a great pastime for him and he achieved designation as a LIFE MASTER and DIRECTOR.
A brief memorial will be held from 1:30-4:00 p.m. at the Chapters Viewpoint Restaurant Banquet room located at 610 Columbia Street, Kamloops, B.C. on Saturday, September 14, 2013. Friends and family are invited to join us in a Celebration of Perry's life.
