Edward Harper
HARPER, EDWARD ROY - 1943 - 2013 - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving husband, father and grandfather, Ed Harper, at The Dr. G. L. Dumont University Hospital on Saturday, September 7th, 2013, at the age of 69. Born in Moncton on October 27th, 1943, he is the son Marie (Harper) Berry and the late Water Harper. Ed was a well-known mechanic in the Moncton area until his early retirement due to kidney failure. An avid collector, he frequented junkyards and flea markets as often as he could. He volunteered annually for the Salvation Army Kettle Campaign. He enjoyed family gatherings, travelling, antique cars and car shows. Ed is survived by his loving wife Beverley Harper, daughters Ann-Marie (Kevin), Lisa (Todd), and son Jason (Sabera) and 11 grandchildren TJ, Justin, Brandon, Sarah, Korrey, Krysten, Kaydence, Brooklyn, Nessa, Brock, and John Walter, and step grandchildren Kayleigh, Theo, and Rosalie Prime. Also survived by brother Aubrey (Lois) sisters Elizabeth Lewis (Fred) and Alice Young and sisters in law Bea Harper, Brenda Rossetti and Terri Lambe (Gilbert), brothers in law Gord (Fern) MacDonald, Brent (Joanne), Allan (Leanna), Kris (Christine) MacLeod, several nieces and nephews and special friend Becky. In addition to his father, Ed was predeceased by brother Wally and brothers in law Nelson Young, Ron MacDonald and Keith MacLeod.
Visitation will take place at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, September 10th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The Funeral service will be held in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 11th, 2013 at 11:00 am. Reception to follow in the Garden View Reception Room. The family would like to thank the staff of Nephrology and Oncology Depts. of the G. L Dumont for all their care and support over the years. If desired donations to the Kidney Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the Salvation Army Community and Family Services would be greatly appreciated.
