Date de décès : 8 septembre 2013
WEIR, GARNET - Garnet Tillman Weir, Dartmouth, NS passed away at the Dartmouth General Hospital September 8, 2013 with family at his side. Born September 15, 1921 in Albert, Albert Co. NB, he was the last surviving member of his immediate family. After graduation from Riverside Consolidated School, and service in the Canadian Air Force during World War II, he held many positions with British American Oil and Gulf Oil retiring in 1982 as an auditor. He then began his dream job of driving new cars throughout the Maritimes for O'Regans Toyota until 2001. It was his absolute joy to travel around every nook and cranny in the Maritimes searching out back roads and avoiding tolls at all costs. Garnet is survived by daughters Sandra (Ray) Adlington and Judy (Graham) Chisholm, and son Terry (Kim) Weir. He is also survived by grandchildren Raymond (April) Adlington, Wayne (Chrystal) Adlington, Kelly (Chris) Lo, Colin (Krystyna) Chisholm, Dustin (Chantel) Weir; great grandchildren Jessica and Victoria Adlington, Rebecca and Alexis Adlington, Dominic Lo, and Hayden Weir. He is also survived by his companion Joyce Berry, sister-in-law Vivian Weir, and many nieces and nephews. Garnet's happiest moments were when all of us were together sharing a meal and family hijinks. He took great delight in everyone's accomplishments both large and small. He was predeceased by his wife, Muriel (Steeves) Weir, his parents Benjamin and Frances (Bannister) Weir; brothers Joseph and Otto; sisters Elizabeth Beck, Bertha Buhmeister, Mildred Power, and Alexis Jean Ayer.
