It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lenus Gale on Sept. 8, 2013, at home, surrounded by his family.
Born in New Waterford, he is the son of the late Gus and Betty (Roach) Gale.
Lenus was a very kind and generous person, not only toward his own family but anybody who knew him. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He will be sadly missed by his many friends.
He is survived by the love of his life of 42 years, wife Linda (MacDougall); son, Chad (Valerie), Oromocto, N.B.; grandchildren, Daniel, Jeffery, Alexandra. Lenus is also survived by sister, Lois (Garry) Dimitrov, B.C.; brother, Michael (Gerarda) Gale, Marion Bridge; sisters in-law, Rhonda, at home, Joanne (Lorry) Tighe, Dartmouth, Linda Barton; brothers in-law, Roddie (Mary), Brian (Selena) and aunts, Loretta Bauer, Cecelia Roach
Beside his parents, he was predeceased by a son in infancy and brother, Dick.
A special thanks goes out to VON nurses and palliative care for their kindness and compassion.
Cremation has taken place and a mass to celebrate Lenus’s life will be held in the Parish of Saint Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at 10 a.m. with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial to be held in St. Michael’s Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the parish hall, Convent Street. All are welcome.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500.
