Mary Irene Crummey, devoted wife to Wilfred J. Crummey, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Sept. 7, 2013, at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Buddy and Irene Wilson.
She was known for her great sense of humour and selflessness. She was a big Toronto Blue Jay's fan, loved darts and a good game of poker as well as other card games. She loved animals and will be missed by her dog Daisy, who was always by her side.
Irene was a hard-working and loving woman who left a lasting impression on anyone who met her. She will live on in the hearts of her family always.
Irene is survived by her son, Wilfred, Toronto; daughters, Lorraine (Joe) Martell, Sydney, and Marilyn (Ricky) Campbell, Lingan; brother, Tommy (Margie) Wilson, New Waterford; grandchildren, Lisa, Kimberley, Derek and Gordie; great-grandchildren, Dreyden, Olivia, Mya, Jordon, Brendan, Keegan, Emma and Markus.
Besides her parents, Irene was also predeceased by her sister, Thelma, brothers, Lesley in infancy, Russell, Cecil, Lloyd, Ton, Earl, Clayton, Gerald and Dick.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Irene's life will be held Thursday, Sept. 12 at 2 p.m. in the chapel at McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500 with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial in St. Agnes Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the KOC, Plummer Avenue. All are welcome.
