Grace Darlene Pope
1959 - 2013

Grace Darlene Pope passed away in her home near Prince Albert, SK on September 7, 2013 at age 53. She is now in heaven with her Lord and Savior whom she dearly loved and served. Grace was predeceased by her parents Edwin and Anna Heal and infant sister Victoria. Grace is survived by her loving husband Walter and children Joseph and Janelle; her brother Albert (Barbara) Heal; her sister Georgina (Robert) Hill; her brother Peter (Deborah) Heal; Walter's parents Joseph and Helen Pope; his sister Wanda (Brent) Wahlstrom; his brother Wayne (Pamela) Pope, and numerous nieces and nephews. Grace was born in Prince Albert, SK on December 24, 1959 and grew up in Stony Rapids, SK and Buffalo Narrows, SK before attending high school in Grand Centre, AB. She graduated from Briercrest Bible College in 1980 and then joined Northern Canada Evangelical Mission, working in New Brunswick and northern Quebec. Grace and Walter were married in Prince Albert in 1994 and continued to work with NCEM until 2008 when they were instrumental in establishing Victory FM radio in Prince Albert. Grace was passionate about the Christian radio ministry, and had a vital role in welcoming people into the station, bookkeeping, programming and editing. She continued with this ministry even as her health failed severely over the past few months, taking on a major project that already has had a huge impact on the quality of programming. Throughout her devastating illness, Grace continually exemplified an attitude of thankfulness right up to the moment she was called to her eternal home. A Public Viewing will be held at Gray's Funeral Chapel, 575 - 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK on Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2013 at the Crossroads Pentecostal Assembly, 1510 Olive Diefenbaker Drive, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Gerry Wortman officiating. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations in Grace’s memory can be made to Victory FM, Box 3141 Prince Albert SK S6V 7M4. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
