
J. Heather Dew
DEW, J. HEATHER (McKIRGAN) - It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of J. Heather Dew, which occurred on Monday, September 9th, 2013 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on March 19th, 1936 at Niagra-on-the-Lake, ON, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary McKirgan. Heather worked in Housekeeping at the DVA Hospital for 20 years and after retirement she worked for Senior Watch. She served in the Army Reserve for 3 years as Pte. McKirgan, J.H. working as a nursing assistant. Heather was a true blue Maple Leaf and Blue Jays fan and a member of the Croakers Club. She was a member of the Queenstown Baptist Missionary Aid, Fredericton Old Times Baseball League and the Water Lilies Swim Club. Heather is survived by her two daughters, Heather-Ann (Bob) Law of Pleasant Villa and Bonnie-Jean (Gary) Farris of Lower Jemseg; sons, Roderick of Edmonton, AB and Rob (Nicole) of Vernon, BC; six grandchildren, Jeremy Farris, Mike, Sheryl (Joe) and Jocelyn (Shawn) Law, and Kirby and Samantha Dew; great granddaughter, Autumn Campbell; one sister, Amy Stevens of Guelph, ON; two brothers, Ian (Sharon) McKirgan of Hamilton, ON and Tom McKirgan of Okotoks, AB; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Friday, September 13th, 2013 from 7 to 9 pm. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, September 14th at 11 am with Pastor Normand McDonald officiating.
