STEPHENS, DOROTHY-LOUISE (DOR-LOU) (JONES) - Dor-Lou passed away peacefully on September 7, 2013 in Vancouver BC after a valiant battle with cancer, just short of her 80th birthday. Predeceased by her husband, Donald Graham Stephens in 2001. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Hilary Anne and Lindsay Jane, and her grand-dog, Lauer. Born in Apohaqui, New Brunswick, Dor-Lou moved to Vancouver in 1959 and loved both coasts. Dor-Lou is survived by her sister-in-law, Marie Lounsbury and nephew, Richard, many cousins and good friends. She was gentle and kind, strong and brave, and generous to a fault.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the BC Cancer Agency, Vancouver Hospice Society or Jones Memorial Park, Apohaqui, NB, would be appreciated. Many thanks to the doctors, nurses, professional caregivers who were so generous with their time and supportive in this past year. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 20 at 11 AM at St Helen's Anglican Church, 4405 West 8th Avenue, Vancouver, BC. Interment to follow at a later date in Kirk Hill Cemetery, Sussex, NB.
