WHEATON, GUERNEY - Guerney Wheaton, 68, of Salisbury, and formerly of Riverglade, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Sunday, September 15, 2013. Born in Wheaton Settlement, he was a son of the late Medley and Emma (nee Constantine) Wheaton. Guerney worked as a truck driver most of his life. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and looking for animals, going for drives in the country most mornings. He loved his family; his grandchildren were his pride and joy. Guerney is survived by his companion, Olive Steeves; his daughter, Sandra McLong (Brad) of Havelock; his sons: Skipp Wheaton of Saint John, and Trevor Wheaton (Charlene Lewis) of Oxbow, SK; his sisters: Gloria McWilliams (David), Garda Crossman (Gordon), and Gail Cochrane, all of Salisbury, and Jocelyn Corey (George) of Steeves Settlement; his brother, Gerald Wheaton of Toronto, ON; his grandchildren: Kyle, Olivia, Owen, Wyatt, Nikki, Brooklyn, Haylee, Madison, and Tyson; as well as by many other extended family members and friends. Besides his parents, Guerney was predeceased by his brother, Girvan.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 6 to 9 pm; the funeral service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 2:00 pm, all in Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac (506-756-3361). Interment will be held in the Wheaton Settlement Cemetery. Donations to the New Brunswick Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
